Brian Blake joined Granada TV in 1966 after a short career in academia. He was initially employed to work on a project where World In Action material that had not been transmitted would be published in booklet or pamphlet form. After nine months however the project was declared unviable and Brian was told to go and work on World In Action, under David Plowright’s editorship. He remained there for the rest of his career until he left in the 1990s. He worked initially as a Researcher but after four years was made into a Producer. During his time there he produced more World In Action programmes than any other producer in the history of the series. His programmes included covering the Chernobyl disaster, the murder of James Bulger and racism in Wolverhampton.
