In May 2016 Granada Television celebrated its 60th anniversary.
The company had begun broadcasting on May 3rd 1956 and as a celebration of its 60 years of programme-making a day long conference at Manchester Metropolitan University was organised.
The day was hosted by presenter Gordon Burns and included contributions from distinguished former Granada employees who included Johnnie Hamp, Cat Lewis, Don Jones, David Liddiment, Steve Morrison, Carolyn Reynolds, Sandy Ross, George Jesse Turner, Sita Williams and Leslie Woodhead.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Jean-Noel Ezingeard welcomed the 200 guests who attended while Dr Stephen Kelly and Judith Jones introduced the day and their project, along with Professor Melanie Tebbutt.
