Ann Lewis joined Granada as a secretary in 1971 and worked initially in the Presentation Department. 

She went on to work in a range of areas including Local Programmes where she was the News Desk Secretary and was a shop steward for NATKE, the National Association of Theatrical and Kine Employees.

After eight years at Granada she left to become a journalist.
