Steve Anderson joined Granada Television as a journalist from the Liverpool Echo in 1978 and went to work in the newly set-up Liverpool newsroom at Exchange Flags.

He eventually came over to Manchester and worked as a researcher on World In Action until leaving the company in 1984 to join the BBC.
