His mother was a well known Production Assistant at the company and at one time was secretary to David Plowright. As a consequence Roland has been in and out of the building since he was a child.

His own Granada career began in 1975 when he became an assistant film editor.

Since then he has been a film and video editor working for much of his time on World In Action, editing hundreds of WIA programmes. But he has also worked on most of Granada’s major dramas including Brideshead Revisited and The Jewel In The Crown as well as many other well known Granada programmes.

He left the company in 2012.
