Sita Williams joined Granada in 1979 as a director, having previously worked at the BBC where she produced The Michael Parkinson Show.

Over the course of the next 25 years she went on to direct and produce many award winning dramas.

Her programmes included The Street, Crown Court, Celebration, Hostages, The Forsyte Saga, Reckless, Suspicious Circumstances, Island At War and many others.
