He initially came to Granada as a Researcher working with John Birt and Kenny Everett on the comedy show Nice Time.
He briefly left Granada in 1969 to, as he puts it, ‘be a rock and roll star.’
That didn’t quite work out and he soon returned to Granada to work with John Birt again, this time on World In Action.
He left Granada again in the summer of 1970 and went to work with David Frost at London Weekend Television, returning to Manchester four years later to once more work on World In Action.
Three years later he moved onto local programmes as producer of Granada Reports. Geoff then worked on a wide range of programmes including What’s On, Flying Start, the Granada 500, Telethon, the Krypton Factor and a host of light entertainment shows.
He left Granada in the 1990s to pursue a freelance career and is still making television programmes.
